- Has blogging changed the way you read or think about books?
2. Given that many teen/YA books are written by older writers, is there anything you think they sometimes get wrong... about their younger characters?
It depends, of course, on the author. Most of the time they manage to capture the thoughts of a teenage character adequately. However, a select few do it perfectly, and that's when a YA novel becomes truly magical.
In terms of getting things wrong, I don't actually think so. The authors generally do very well. The only thing I would say if that I would like to see more character diversity.
3. What was the first book you loved? How did you come to it? Why did it affect you strongly?
The first book I loved would be the very first book I read, a little book called 'First Adventures of Fidget and Quilly.' The cover is below. I came to it, of course, because my parents bought it for me as my first book. I absolutely loved it, the feel of the pages and looking at the pictures of the funny little characters as they caught rainbows in a jar. It affected me because I first discovered something which I know is going to be my lifelong passion; reading.
