On a different note, I get asked a lot about what it's like to start a blog. One of the things I get questioned about the most is how easy it is to start a blog.
It's actually really easy. Creating and starting the blog is the simple bit. All you have to do to start a blog is think about what you're going to be blogging about, who your audience is. Then choose a domain name and stuff for your site, and customise some templates until you're happy. The only difficult thing about that is making it appeal to your audience, but try tweaking some things.
Maintaining a blog, however, is a totally different thing. My advice would be to post regularly, like I do. Think very carefully about your content and your audience. But most of all, show your passion for the thing you blog about. As I said in my last discussion post, the best bloggers blog because they love what they blog about. I blog because I love books, for example.
Don't be disheartened if, at the start of your blog's life, you don't get many pageviews or comments. That is how every blog starts, I promise. As long as you're passionate on the subject on which you blog, it doesn't matter how popular it is. This blog isn't, but I blog because of my love of books, and that's enough for me.
So just believe in yourself, and get blogging!
