The Day the Blog Went Black

You may have noticed that I've plunged the entire blog into blackness, and added a new background.

Why?

I wanted to join the whole world in its mourning after the Paris attacks yesterday.

Landmarks all around the world have been lit up in the colours of the French flag, in memory of the victims and to urge France to stay strong in the aftermath of the horrible attacks.

The Eiffel tower lights were not turned on to signify the country's grief for the estimated 150 lost in the attacks.

Innocent people in restaurants, theatres, just going about their daily lives were killed in a rush of suicide attacks and shootings. Some were held hostage.

It is tragedies like this, I think, that unite the world in a way nothing else can. Everyone is united in sorrow, but also in anger at the acts of terrorism that plague the world.
